KDA is committed to supporting artists and arts organizations through funding opportunities, professional development, and creative initiatives. Below are the current and upcoming opportunities, as well as initiatives led or supported by KDA.

KDA Organizational Members are invited to apply for KDA Grants. KDA Grants provide financial support to member arts organizations to advance creative projects, programming, and community impact throughout Kern County.
KDA Individual/Student Members are invited to apply for KDA Scholarships. KDA Scholarships support individual and student members support a variety of initiatives including training, education, and artistic development.
The KDA Individual Artists Fellowship program provides direct, unrestricted funding to support the creative practice, professional growth, and sustainability of individual artists across the Central Valley and Eastern Sierra.
The KDA Creative Corps supported artists in delivering community-based creative projects that strengthened civic engagement and expanded access to the arts throughout 14 counties in the Central Valley and Eastern Sierra region. (This grant was not renewed by the state, but stay tuned for future opportunities.)
The Artistic Discovery Congressional Art Competition offers high school students the opportunity to showcase their artwork at the national level and be recognized for their creative excellence.
